GUI vs CLI version
METROPOLIS2 comes in two versions: GUI and CLI.
The GUI version allows you to run simulations with an easy-to-use graphical interface. To use the GUI version, click on the GUI button corresponding to your operating system. It will download an installer that will install METROPOLIS2 as a program on your computer. You can then run this METROPOLIS2 program to start simulations.
The CLI version is an executable with no graphical interface. It can be run on a command prompt / terminal. To use the CLI version, click on the CLI button corresponding to your operating system. It will download a zipfile that contains the executable, together with example input files.
